Madison & Lamont
New Strawn Wireless Service
MT NETWORKS is excited to bring you this next generation of communications technology.
It's all part of our commitment to provide exceptional customer service to the communities we serve.
FTTH will provide many benefits to MT NETWORKS customers including:
Fiber has the capability to transport virtually unlimited bandwidth. This accommodates today’s demand for high speed Internet connections as well as the advanced applications of tomorrow. Our minimum speed package is 30 Mbps and we can offer 1 Gig to residents and business as well. No more time wasted watching the daisy wheel spin while your page loads.
FTTH is considered “future proof ” and offers the flexibility to deliver additional services in the years to come.
Fiber optic cable is less susceptible to trouble than traditional copper wires and can withstand the shock and vibration from inclement weather. Surveys of broadband consumers conducted by Consumer Reports magazine and by the FTTH Council have shown that subscribers of FTTH services show considerably higher satisfaction rates than subscribers of other broadband services.
Increases Home Value
Research shows that fiber-to-the-home can increase a home’s value by as much as $5,000 according to research by the Fiber-to-the-Home Council and RVA LLC. The reason fiber adds value: Subscribers were more likely to be very satisfied with their broadband and video services and much less likely to consider moving from their current homes.
Where will this be available?
Currently, we serve all of LaMont and Madison, KS and much of the surrounding area of those communities. We are also excited to anounce we are serving various parts of Coffey County. This includes areas within the Cities of Burlington, New Strawn, LeRoy, Gridley, Waverly, Lebo, and Beto Junction. Please call our Coffey County business office at 620-364-3222 or 888-769-0089 to see if we can serve you.
Will any equipment need to be installed at the house?
Yes, a box called an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) will be provided in order to provision FTTH services.
In 90% of installations, this piece of equipment will be placed inside of the home. The ONT contains the electronics that convert a signal of light from the fiber into usable Internet, TV and phone.
Will FTTH change how my current services work?
If you are a high speed Internet customer with MT Networks, you will no longer need a modem. Better yet, your Internet speed will increase due to more bandwidth availability and fiber optic technology.
Fiber optic cable can be made for less than the equivalent length of copper wire and is more durable. Although the FTTH project requires expenditures now, it will save MT NETWORKS money in the future while keeping us at the forefront of technology.
When can I expect the changes?
We have completed our initial construction phase in the towns of Burlington, Gridley, LeRoy, New Strawn, Lebo, Waverly, and Beto Junction. Residential and business service activation will happen in phases and weather permitting, it is the goal of MT NETWORKS to have Fiber service available to all premises along initial fiber route as soon as possible.
